When buying tickets online, make sure you’re on our website. Third party resellers (scalpers) have become more and more prevalent online. These resellers design their websites to make customers think they are purchasing directly from The Paramount, then charge more than the original ticket price or excessive fees.
The Paramount Theatre is not affiliated with any 3rd party ticket resellers. If you purchased from a reseller, ticket validity and entry into the performance cannot be guaranteed.
How can you be sure your tickets are valid?
- Make sure you’re on the correct website (ParamountVT.org). Once you choose an event on our website and click “buy tickets”, you are connected to ovationtix.com. OvationTix is The Paramount’s authorized ticketing system.
Look for the Heritage Family Credit Online Box Office logo and shop with confidence:
- If the website says “You’d better act fast, there are only XX number of seats remaining!” you are probably on a reseller site. There are only a few seats remaining because they only bought a few seats and are now trying to make a profit off of you. They want to create a sense of urgency.
- Know your seats! If the website you’re on gives you a seat in a range (instead of specific seat numbers), you’re probably not in the right place.
- Did your ticket fees suddenly go up? Most small venues have modest service fees.
- When/how will you get the tickets? We give you the option to email your tickets immediately. If the site you are on says it will email you the tickets later…you’re probably on a 3rd party site.
- Check your email confirmation: It should be from Paramount Theatre – Vermont, with our logo and contact information.
If you think you may have purchased from a third party, you can reach out to your financial institution to contest the charge. You can also file complaints about ticket resellers with the Vermont Attorney General’s Consumer Assistance Program at 800.649.2424 or by emailing ago.cap@vermont.gov.
