Twelve years in the making, Vermont filmmaker Nora Jacobson captures the essence of beloved poet Ruth Stone, winner of the National Book Award for Poetry. After tragedy strikes, Stone retreated to the margins of the literary world, working tirelessly to provide for her children and transforming her grief into poetry, using simple, startling language. Jacobson combines verité footage, interviews and animation done by the poet’s granddaughter to paint a portrait of Stone’s life in Vermont.

Director Nora Jacobson will attend the screening and do a Q&A following the film.
